Tire Collection – 2026

New for 2026, the City of Omaha will host a series of three tire collection events held separately from our traditional spring and fall neighborhood cleanup events.

Guidelines and Limitations

Please note the following guidelines:

  • Tire collection is open to all City of Omaha households.
  • Sixteen tires maximum per vehicle, per day  (Neighborhood organizations may seek a variance from this limit by pre-registering by clicking here.)
  • Must be a Nebraska plated vehicle delivering tires.  See additional details below for options.
  • Only residential tires are accepted; tires from businesses prohibited.
  • Residents are responsible for unloading their own vehicles, as no assistance will be provided.

Dates and Locations

The 2026 Tire Collection events will take place on these Saturdays, from 9am until 2pm.

Accepted Items

  • Car tires
  • Motorcycle tires
  • Small truck tires
  • Tires removed from rim

Prohibited Items

  • Tires from businesses
  • Tires still on rims
  • Tractor Tires
  • Semi Tractor/Trailer Tires
  • Bicycle tires
  • Lawn mower tires
  • Tire storage plastic wrap
  • Any other waste
  • Tires in excess of 16 per vehicle per day

Additional Details:

  • Please note that residents are responsible for transporting and unloading their own tires.

  • Sixteen tire limit per vehicle, per day.  Exceptions will be made for legitimate remediation events run by neighborhoods or non-profit organizations that pre-register.  Contact cleanupomaha@cityofomaha.org for more information or to pre-register click here.
  • Participation in tire collection events is at your own risk.  Participants must use appropriate caution to avoid damage to a vehicle or personal injury.
  • Borrowed, Rented, or In Transit vehicles (not having a Nebraska license plate):  Have a current, valid, pink vehicle registration of a Douglas County vehicle with you and ready to show.  The license plate from that vehicle will be recorded.
